Late For Dinner by Mr-Ripley Late For Dinner by Mr-Ripley
I had a clear concept and name in my mind before start working on my entry for the previous Fotolia contest. [link] This time is harder because the contest rule is clearer that only stock images from Fotolia / StockProject [and my own images which I don't have] can be used. I had to look all over the images there first to get an idea. And everything of this work started from the crane. :)
All Stock images used in this entry are from StockProject.

pie, helmets and the three pandas were adapted from the contest's asset pack and mixed with my drawing.
birds and stars were drawn by me.
There is no stock image, brush or texture from other sources being used in this entry.

Coming in second in "Plans Gone Wrong Contest", the details in this painted manipulation are amazing in this work. Check the details in the city below as the Panda is in a precarious situation of possibly falling from his high perch among the construction beams. Be sure to check the gallery for additional wonderful works to view! ( Suggested by sweetychan and Featured by WDWParksGal )
I love this picture! It reminds me of the famous New York City picture "Lunchtime on a Crossbeam", only that this situation is slightly different: the action happens at night and the characters are some sweet pandas!
You surprised very well the reactions and the feelings on the bears faces, especially on the one's who seems to have problems on the scaffold.
Also the details! the moon surrounded by clouds, the birds in the sky, the stars and even the helmet lights are very well done! And the city lights are divine!
I think that the panda bear that has trouble on the scaffold represents very well the contest's theme, plans gone wrong!
All in all I think this is a very good deviation with big chances to win the contest!

This is a spectacular use of stock especially since you didn't use any from other sources!

Funny concept, love the pose the falling struggling panda is doing!
I really like the colour use, and how you incorporated the bright blue, giving it a more cool and mysterious feel to this funny situation.

Congratulations on winning!

However, I feel you could have ranked even higher if you portrayed more on the "plans gone wrong" and went more in depth with it in the comment too and provide a background story.
Like I don't know, pandas of the future were genetically altered to be able to do construction but they still are distracted by food! Or they escaped from the zoo to pursue their dream of construction working (okay that made no sense but you get my drift) because right now all I see of plans gone wrong is the panda falling.

Overall, a dazzling piece, with such an interesting subject and beautiful background!

Gosh, my congratulations, I am here just 18 months and didn't see it, I couldn't be better! And I know the pain of stock choice or rather search, wasted hours, great work! Clap
