This is my first experience with fire. Hope it's hot enough. By the way, the version you see now is not the same version mentioned in the critique. This is a birthday gift for my lovely Thai brother and my two friends All of them have the same birthday today. So, I wish you all have a very happy birthday together. (And hope you all like my gift too )
Thanks for the wonderful stock images from... for the fire [link] and the rain [link] for splash and blood [link] for thunderbolt [link] The man and dragon are from [link] The sword [link] and handle [link]
There is a lot happening in the picture that is hard to pay attention to something, even details, that sometimes can be fixed doing some "camera" tricks (deep of field, vigenting, motion blurs).
Is hard to tell what's happening, or what's going to happen, and the lack of certain colors on the characters makes the illusion of both being blended into one character.
I would suggest more work on what specifically you want to attract attention.
The effects are really impressive, and the illumination is amazing, there is no doubt bout it. About the environment there is something off with the thunders, like if there weren't really there.
Some effects that intensify their origin or their existence (ej. like the glow/light a thunder cause over the clouds).
Also the use of rain is really nice but I would suggest to recreate more the deep space between drops, the rain environment feels very plain, like just a plain picture with soft blending over the whole picture.
My final observation is quality, I would suggest to take care over the quality on the pictures, some details are sharper and others are too blurry (out focus - over sized).
TIP: If you used Photoshop, making use of "smart objects" on your layers would make a great difference when change the size of your pictures/textures.
But overall is impressive, is aggressive, is nice, but I have the feeling you could make it better.
